Should You Buy a Turntable?

Should You Buy a Turntable?

We are currently in the 21st century and technology has taken over every aspect of our life, and a lot of people could not be happier over the convenience and comfort this has provided them, but at the same time, there is also a backlash following. There is a growing number of people that are trying to push technology away and are arguing that digitization of every aspect of our lives is stopping is ruining a lot of experiences from us, one of them being how we listen to music. There is a chunk of people that have rejected digital music and prefer to use cassettes, or more specifically, turntables.

Now, turntables are said to provide a completely different experience, and you can easily find good quality audiophile turntables around you thanks to their growing demand. However, if you are currently debating whether or not to get a turntable, you can keep on reading below.

  • If you are someone that wants to enjoy a more “pure” music experience where the format and sounds you hear are as close as natural, then you would like a turntable. Turntables do not alter the format of the music, so the sounds that you hear are the closest possible version of the song.
  • If you happen to be someone that enjoys listening to entire albums and songs without skipping parts over, then you will love a turntable. You cannot skip any song or part with a vinyl, so you will have to listen to the entire album from start to finish, which is a great experience for a lot of people.
  • If you happen to have the money to keep buying vinyl records, then you should get a turntable. Vinyl can be expensive to buy, so as long as this is something you can afford and know you will enjoy, then you should get it.
